The Clickbait Disease Is Spreading

Despite everything that’s going on in the world, somehow the news of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce made top headlines.

Forget the upcoming US election or the refugee crisis, a celebrity divorce grabbed eyeballs.

It’s not hard to see why journalists are struggling to find an audience when it comes to real news.

Right now newspapers are cutting their staff or being forced to write tabloid like articles just to stay alive.

And that’s why journalists are resorting to clickbait to get readers.

Several journalists used the celebrity divorce to draw readers towards a story about Donald Trump’s finances.

For example, one journalist posted “Wow, so this is why Angelina left” with a link to the article on Trump.

Others used #brangelina to draw readers towards their articles.

Did you ever think that someone with something as important to say as journalists would have to resort to clickbait to get readers?

They do.

And in order to make money online, you need a system that hacks the clickbait phenomenon and turns it into profit.
